Another world first from Bosch are the new Rotak lawnmowers, which work with innovative grass combs. They offer the user a solution to a well-known problem: whether the edge of a lawn or the border of a wall – the new Rotak mowers cut the lawn right up to the edge perfectly. In many cases, this saves the gardening enthusiast having to rework with a grass trimmer or grass shears, enabling him to finish his work faster. The four new models with cutting widths between 34 and 43 centimeters respectively cover the hobby gardener's requirement for lawns with an area of up to 750 square meters.
You can see straight away the benefit of the new Rotak mowers: the grass combs are wider than the front wheel spacing and guide grass growing close to the edge into the blades.
Bosch has equipped the mowers with 1300-Watt to 1700-Watt motors with the PowerDrive system, which offers especially high torque. The torques lie between 20 Newtonmeters on the Rotak 34 mower and 23 Newtonmeters on the top model Rotak 43. This makes them many times more powerful than conventional lawnmowers with induction motors, cutting effortlessly long or damp grass. The powerful airflow feeds the cut grass reliably into the collecting box. If the cutter strikes the root of a tree or a stone, the sliding clutch absorbs the impact to protect the motor.
Depending on the model, a 40 to 50 liter grass box is connected to the strong and sporty housing of the new rotary mowers. Thanks to the low weight of 11 to 13 kilograms and their ergonomically shaped handle, the mowers are also especially easy to maneuver in curves and corners. Another user benefit is that Bosch has also made the underside surface of the cutter bowl very smooth to ensure that it is easy to clean. Damp grass hardly sticks to the housing and the few blades of grass that do can be wiped off with ease.
